Mothership fishing expeditions are what we provide. Based in Weipa, we operate all year round, accessing pristine fishing sites across the northern section of the Great Barrier Reef.
Our mothership the Kerra Lyn, has enough fridge and freezer space to be self-contained for more than a month of chartering. She’s stable and fully equipped to provide comfort and luxury for all her guests.
We’ve got three, awesome fishing tenders, which have been custom-designed for comfortable all-day fishing trips.
Frontier Fishing Charters provides their guests with hot and cold breakfasts, fresh lunch (on tenders or mothership) and dinner and desert, prepared by the chef each day. All cabins are fully air-conditioned with fans and power supply. Sunsets on the upper deck are amazing.
Fishing the Great Barrier Reef is what fishing dreams are made of. Apart from the fact this place is as scenic as it gets, the clean, clear waters are bursting with an amazing diversity and abundance of fish.
Some of the experiences you may enjoy while fishing the Great Barrier Reef include, but are not limited to, getting smashed by GTs, fighting testy red emperors, queenfish and coral trout, or have your line screaming out after a marlin.
How can you catch them? However you want! Sport fishing is amazing, as is lure and live baiting. Hard body lures. Soft plastics. Surface lures. Poppers and of course, spear fishing.
