The Kerra Lyn started her life as a Queensland Marine Parks vessel, used for research, patrolling and environmental work on the Great Barrier Reef, up to the Torres Strait Islands.
At this time, the vessel underwent major refurbishment of hull, machinery and equipment. Large, spacious and comfortable, she was maintained in immaculate condition and has many safety features that exceed industry requirements.
Retiring from government service, the Kerra Lyn moved to Western Australia where she became a whale watching vessel and charter boat.
Purchased by Wade and Kara in 2017, the Kerra Lyn returned to Queensland waters to under go a refit and then take up its role as mothership for extended fishing charters and expeditions. She is now based at Weipa.
Offering 6 cabins, which each have two single beds (plus a single bed in the bridge), the Kerra Lyn is a spacious, comfortable mothership vessel. Her galley/mess is fully equipped with electric hot plate, stove oven, microwave, large table and plenty of seating. There’s two showers and toilets on board.
She’s in excellent condition and has a voyage range of 2000 nautical miles.
